Privacy Policy for SnapMark Pro

1. Information Collection

SnapMark Pro handles and processes the following categories of user data:

A. Website Content

• Screenshots and Video/GIF Recordings: When you capture a screen, selected tab, or window, the extension processes the resulting image or video.
• Extracted Text (OCR): When you use the Optical Character Recognition (OCR) feature to extract text from a selected area on a page.

B. Web History & Metadata

• Page URLs and Titles: To assist with organization and automatic screenshot naming/history lookup, SnapMark Pro captures the URL and page title of the tab where the screenshot is taken.

C. Authentication Information & Credentials

If you use third-party integrations, the extension stores your custom credentials locally, including:

• AI Service API keys (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Mistral, Groq, Cohere, etc.)
• Slack Webhook URLs
• Jira domain names, email addresses, and API tokens
• Notion integration tokens and parent page IDs
• Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive access tokens (OAuth)

2. Information Use & Sharing

Your data never leaves your device unless you explicitly trigger an outbound action. When triggered, data is only transmitted directly to the designated endpoints:

• AI Services: If you use the AI Annotation or OCR features, the image is transmitted directly to your selected AI Provider (e.g., OpenAI, Google, Anthropic) using your personal API key.
• Translation Services: Text selected for translation is sent to Google Translate APIs.
• User-Initiated Integrations: When you export or share a screenshot:
  • It is sent directly to your configured Slack Webhook.
  • It is uploaded directly to your Jira project or Notion page.
  • It is uploaded directly to your personal Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive account.

We do not sell, trade, or transfer any user data to third parties, advertising networks, or data brokers.

3. Data Storage & Deletion

All user data is stored locally on your device.

• Local Storage: Screenshots, recordings, and history logs are stored in your browser's secure local storage (chrome.storage.local).
• Sync Storage: Setting preferences and integration configurations (excluding sensitive tokens) are synced across your Chrome browsers using chrome.storage.sync.
• No Remote Servers: We do not own, manage, or operate any remote servers that store, log, or harvest your images, videos, web history, or credentials.
• User Deletion Control: You can delete individual screenshots or clearing your browser cache/uninstalling the extension will permanently remove all stored files and credentials.

4. Data Security

Because we do not maintain a remote database or server API, your assets are immune to server-side breaches or database leaks. Your screenshot files remain as secure as your personal computer and local Chrome profile. We recommend maintaining standard security practices on your operating system to secure your local files.

5. Extension Permissions

To perform its function, the SnapMark Pro extension requires the following Chrome permissions:

• activeTab: This permission allows SnapMark Pro to capture the visible layout area of the page you are currently viewing when you trigger the extension shortcut or click its icon.
• storage: This permission is required to save your configuration, customized keyboard hotkeys, and pricing preview preferences locally on your browser profile.
